Worst in the league for sure. An old slow team, with horrible goaltending. Even the worst franchises would skate circles.
Unless the team is coached by Barry Trotz, then they somehow make the playoffs. Islanders are garbage but Trotz somehow makes it all work. |

That lineup would be brutal. 4 lines of 4th liners, old slow defense with a guy - Chara - who now provides near zero offense playing on the first pair and the worst goaltending in the league. Buffalo would likely beat that team 4-1 in a seven game series. Seattle would sweep them easily. |

Popular thought is that Cizikas/Palmieri/Zajac/Parise/Beauvillier/Sorokin have all agreed on deals that just haven't been registered with the league yet. It's all speculation obviously. Pelech's deal had to be announced because he filed for arbitration.
Further speculation is that nobody would be surprised if Lou was working out some sort of big trade and doesn't want to tip his hand to other GM's about what kind of cap space he has or doesn't have remaining. |
